Necklaces have the greatest variety in any style of Jewellery from chokers, which encase the neck sometimes from ears to collarbone, through to long chains, hanging below the waist for watches and muffs. Allowing the designers ample scope for the finest settings along with combinations of gems and paste, this medium offers some of the most exuberant pieces of jewellery available.

Pearls were also highly prized for their beauty and rarity,  from the finest seeds to long ropes and often in various colours. Until the invention of cultured pearls , natural or faux ( glass ) were the only pearls available and retain, to this day, a mood of simple class and elegance.
